When you feel anxious or stressed, your whole person is involved in the process - from knots in your stomach, to tightness in your chest, to a racing mind. Stress & anxiety often affect us on every level, not just mental.

Are you looking for a natural way to manage anxiety, stress, or depression?

Do you want a truly total mind, body, spirit approach?

Integrative holistic coaching is for you if you want a natural-based approach to healing and want to get to the bottom of it once and for all. During these sessions, we’re skills & goal-focused on some, if not all, of the following areas: sleep & self-care strategies so we can address your unique bio-rhythm, dietary/nutritional/ herbal support, bodywork such as simple yoga & exercise, energy healing & intuitive work.

Not only do you want to feel better, but you want to naturally address some of the most common underlying causes and contributors to stress & anxiety such as: decreasing chronic inflammation that has been linked to anxiety, depression and other mood issues, integrating strategies and methods that help enhance your self-care (which is so important).

You may not want, or need all of these strategies, but together we’ll make a plan that feels right and good to you. We work to develop an individualized plan that is EASY to follow, and you can practice and incorporate at home.

This coaching style is offered exclusively with Beth.

We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body. This imprint has ongoing consequences for how the human organism manages to survive in the present. Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.
— Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma

Together we look at:

BODY

Nutrition/Dietary/Herbal Support

The foods we eat can absolutely impact how we feel. High carb, refined and processed food are well-known culprits. But what about healthy food? Well, even healthy food can affect each of us differently. We may be eating things that contribute to feelings of stress, anxiety & depression and we don’t even realize it! To help figure this out, we’ll us a food-mood diary to help us follow any potential triggers and explore ways we can use substitution so you don’t feel deprived either.

Bio-rhythm

Every living creature on this planet has their own bio-rhythm. You may be more familiar with the term “circadian rhythm”. While there isn’t a lot we can do to change our own individual bio-rhythm, there are things we can do to work with it instead of pushing against it. Like that afternoon slump? It may be your natural time to rest…which would be fine except what if you have to work? Together, we find some comfortable ways of managing and honoring your own unique rhythm to help you exactly at those times. This includes way to get better sleep, feel more rested, and in return, not so vulnerable to your thoughts that may increase your stress and anxiety.

By incorporating yoga/bodywork, you’ll learn how to better:

  • Track body sensation

  • Gain self-mastery

  • Increase self-regulation

  • Expand present-moment awareness

  •    Breath work

  • Regulate the ANS and calm symptoms of trauma, anxiety and depression

Practices like yoga have been shown to be most effective in healing trauma when it is integrated into a larger therapeutic framework utilizing traditional mental help modalities. You don’t have to be flexible to do this. I’m not! But there are still principles and postures we can use to take advantage of this option.

Organizations as diverse as the U.S. Army and the U.S prison system have embraced yoga and bodywork as an evidence-based approach to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression. So, an example of a session we may use yoga will focus on chair yoga postures, yogic breathing exercises, and yoga nidra (the yogic sleep).

Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going inside ourselves.

MIND

Imagine having a toolbox of actual skills you can learn to use and grab anytime, anyplace?

We work to build a toolbox just like that for you too. Areas we work on in skill-building include: mindfulness, tolerating distressful thoughts, sensations and situations, assertiveness, balancing emotions, increasing effectiveness in your relationships and others.

You may not need every area covered, but that’s why we work to find the right tools just for you. And like riding a bike, once you learn them, you’ll always have them. That’s what make these changes last.

SPIRIT

No matter what your beliefs, we’re all part spirit. And our physical lives impact and affect our spirits as well. You know the saying, “I’ve lost my spirit”? It’s exactly like that. It’s through self-care strategies that we can regain and refuel our spirits.

We also can implement spiritual work, if you’re interested in that. As a Reiki Master Teacher, Intuitive Healer and Psychic Medium, I can address energetic blockages, imbalances, and bring in an intuitive information I receive.

This is never forced on you…that’s exactly why we develop a plan. It’s always in your control. I offer it as another layer of healing if it interests you.

How this coaching program works:

Contact me with your goals and concerns. I will send you an application form, and I will decide if I think we should schedule the Initial Consult. (Please also see the disclaimer below to make sure you understand the limits to our work together.)

Upon our agreement to work together, I will send you an email with an invoice for our Initial Consult. Once paid, I will send you a 3-day diary, assessment and consent form which I will ask that you keep a record of and send back to me via email at least 5 days prior to our first appointment to allow me time to review your information prior to our session so we can use our time together most productively.  The invoice will come through Square for ease of payment. The  paperwork will come from marin@mitcounseling.com (so please add us as a contact to avoid your paperwork getting lost in a spam folder or filter).

During our appointment, we will discuss any areas of concern, answer any questions, and develop a specific plan tailored for you with steps you can take next in your healing. These next steps will include things such as: nutrient/dietary recommendations, herbal strategies, integrating bodywork and/or energy healing strategies, specific exercises, etc.

As a follow-up to our initial call, within 2 weeks, I will email you a written plan or have one prepared we can discuss at our next visit.

The fee for the initial 75-minute consult is $300.

Follow-up visits for 50-minutes are usually scheduled every 2 weeks, or as needed to help you overcome any obstacles, for  $180.
